It's a shame you can't put an "external" light in between the view finder and the mirror... At the moment the eye just don't stand out enough

Very strange. I used to do some weird stuff with my 10D too, one thing was making a pinhole lens out of cardboard and a...pinhole. That made for some VERY neat pictures, no focusing, no fstops. Then I started to get dust on my sensor, and now I'm afraid to take my lens off for more then a few seconds to switch them.
