The doorway stands there, beckoning.
Stepping in from the darkness of the night.
I realize the similarity.
My own personal reckoning.
The room is me. And I it.
Dark. Empty. Silent.
Hiding everything in shadow.
Concealing my nature. Violent.
Eyes like mine, Blonde hair.
You strung up the lights.
That still reside there.
Illuminating the room in glorious light.
Revealing everything about me.
Chasing away the darkness.
Bringing out all things bright.
Now they stand dark.
My room once more in shadow.
Nothing left but my wit and snark.
Backpedaling back into the night.
I don't wish to return there.
Alone.
No eyes like mine....no Blonde hair...
