So here's my first attempt not nearly as good as yours, but I think I waited too long... I think the trick is to try and capture something like this as its snowing... [link]
Was it still snowing when you took this shot? or was it very soon after the snow stopped coming down that you took it? Just curious...

My first try looked very similar. You are on the right way...
It was not still snowing when i took my snowflake pictures, but the snow was still very fresh.

Beautiful! The shades of blue are fantastic, the sharp focus and blurred background extremely artistic. I love it to pieces. But is that really, really a snowflake? How'd you get a shot so close up?
