So, I started using this "new" technique:

I make grids in MSpaint, then I use the spray paint tool to spray some random colors on an empty space of the screen, then I move the grids over the colors. I make sure to click the option that allows the open spaces (technically, white spaces) in the grids to let the colors come through. Then, I copy and paste the grids, arranging them so that the spray painted colors begin to form patterns. This particular scrap shows what the image looks like when inverted.
