Description
the Numic Union, an attempt by Native Americans living in the Great Basin region just east of the Sierra Nevada mountains to break away from the California Republic. Mostly practicing Russian Orthodoxy as most of the state of California does, their only reason for leaving would be to escape the domination by the Latino-Slavic majority that mostly nestles along the coastlines. Their flag, made up of a Thunderbird silhouette and various other Native imagery, is the source of Native Pride, as well as an alternative to the flag of the Californian states of Sierra Nevada and Sagebrush (though the far edge of Sagebrush also has it's fair share of Anglo-Californian and Anasazi/Pueblo people there.) The larger part of this movement also attracts members of the Native American Church, as well as "Amerindian Neopagan" movements in the southwest of north america, cir. 2010's CE.
