this isn't kansas anymore.
swept up in the tumult,
lost within the winds, i find myself
transported to a time and place
far away from home.

we wake and find ourselves in dystopia.

something troubles this soul.
the death of decency,
the decay of sentiments;
men deep in slumber care no longer
for the outcries of the oppressed.

we wake and find ourselves in anarchy.

lawless, the leaders themselves
no longer bother to punish the wicked.
hands tied
hands washed
just like pontius pilate
while the innocent are crucified.

i cannot remain blind any longer.

restless, i toss and turn
trembling with cold sweat
and an aching in my very psyche
for the sanctuary
now left destitute by evil hands.

weapons fashioned out of words.

death on our doorsteps with
more slain in their wake.

cry for the martyrs
and weep for those yet to come.
expelled from paradise,
this desolate land is no longer
the place which i call home.
