The Jerry Lewis film that he will probably never release - he was dissatisfied with it when completed (he said).  The story was certainly unlike his normal films - a clown is used by the Nazis as a way of keeping Jewish kids (whose families have been slaughtered) under control until the Nazis are ready to destroy them - and the clown - as well.  The film certainly was not the typical Lewis laugh provoker, but I suspect it was more than he thought he could handle, and (as the plot is somewhat similar) Roberto Benigni's "Life is Wonderful" was probably a far better made serious comedy on this kind of subject.
