Good eve.
I've come to discuss a Lin Carter fantasy story (or novel, however he ambitiously envisioned this tale, unfinished at the mo of his death.).he
It's not Khymyrium:City of a hundred kings -which he tried to write in a Morrisque style *. It's AMALRIC, which had a very promising ambitious start, but only ran 2 chapters. Unless he had notes and a synopsis, the story may never be finished. He did get in his usual digs at organized religion. Many of the side adventures of Amalric, immorrtal man-god of Thoorana, alluded to,- in the start of chptr 1, would have made interesting reading. As it was, if Carter didn't leave notes for how Amalric dealt with the city of Yuthontis - ---
Carter ,terminally ill, ditched many of his ambitious projects to pursue shorter tales.
Oddly his discontinued Gondwane epic, does have the final book written & published and I finally found what Ganelon Silvermane's mission was.
* I found Morris hard to read. This style, foreign to Carter's wonted method, slowed him down to a crawl here.
