Today had been a bad day. Everything was stressing you out, and your family wasn't very supportive.

A ray of light spilled into your room as Steve peaked through your half-open door. "Hey, bug?" He said with a grin.

"Hi?" You replied curiously.

"Wanna go get ice cream? Just me and you?"

"Yeah, that would be great." You giggled. "Why?"

"You don't want to go?" Steve teased you.

"Of course I want to go! It's just so random, s'all."

"Well," His eyes drifted to the ground, "I thought maybe you could use some good vibes?"

A smile stretched across your face at his thoughtfulness. "Yeah, definitely, Steve." You ran from your spot on the bed to the doorway to tackle Steve with a hug. He was taken by surprise at first, but then pulled you into his chest and buried his face in your hair. You looked up at him with bright eyes.

"Well, let's go then." He said, cheerfully.

"Yeah!"

You walked into the ice cream shop with wonder plastered on your face. Your eyes first scanned the black-and-white checkered floor, then trailed up to the vintage bubble-gum pink and teal stools. The whole place was '50s themed! The prettiest thing, to you, was the pastel jukebox in the corner. A tingle of happiness fluttered in your chest.

"I figured you'd like this place."

"It's really cool." You confirmed.

"What do you want?"

"A sundae? A hot caramel sundae, please!"

Steve chuckled. "Sure thing."

"What are you getting?"

"Me? Just a banana and strawberry smoothie."

"Look at you, being all healthy."

"Oh, hush!" He rolled his eyes.

It came to your turn in line and Steve ordered for the both of you. You went to go find a nice booth to sit in. Steve walked back with a smoothie in one hand and sundae in the other. He set your sweet treat in front of you and ruffled your hair. You scrunched up your nose and giggled.

"Looks good, doesn't it?"

"Yeah, you want a bite?"

Steve squinted his eyes and gave a big grin. "Just a little bit?"

"Go ahead!" You said, thrusting your cup forward as he scraped some ice cream from the top and popped it in his mouth. Steve made an exaggerated noise to show that it tasted good, causing you to roll your eyes at him.

"Ok, now I'll drink my smoothie." He said, snickering.

You were digging into your sundae when Steve tilted his smoothie towards you with his eyebrow raised, implying that you take a sip of his smoothie. You leaned forward and took a small taste of smoothie, but the awkward angle left a little smoothie on your chin as well. He grabbed a napkin and wiped it off of your chin. Steve's eyes glimmered beautifully. You felt your chest erupt with butterflies. Happiness was the only emotion you could feel. It was nice. You felt like home. Steve was the safety and security you yearned for, and you were so happy to have him.
