Soft pastels, colored pencils, sepia, sanguine, varnish on Pastelmat paper 70x50cm 2024

This is my own reinterpretation of the painting titled: "The(Little)Tower of Babel" c.1563 by Pieter Bruegel the Elder. I saw a tiny reproduction of this masterpiece in "Nowa Fantastyka" magazine in 1999. I didn't know then who was the author of the painting. However, the piece made a great impression on me at that time and still remains one of my favourite works of P. Bruegel the Elder.
The inspiration for the bottom part of my artwork was a macro shot of ants by Mark Moffett.
I use Clairefontaine Pastelmat paper together with Sennelier soft pastels, Conté à Paris crayons, sepia, sanguine, colored pencils, varnish, fixative, carbon paper, plastic foil, permanent marker and masking tape.
