Starscream and Perceptor patted down the sidewalk, while their kits, Jetfire and Jetstorm, hung quietly from their jaws; their tiny arms and legs tucked close to their little bodies. It was getting late, the sun completely setting behind the city as pink, orange, blue and purple filled the clear, summer sky.

Suddenly, the little blue kitten, Jetstorm, yawned tiredly. Perceptor looked down at the little one hanging from his mouth, and then looked ahead to his mate. “Starscream.” Perceptor said with clenched teeth. “I know.” Starscream answered back with clenched teeth as well, knowing exactly what the smaller cat was going to say when he heard that little yawn, as well as noticing that the orange kit in his mouth’s head was bobbing, and eyelids were drooping from exhaustion. The Jetkittens were getting tired, and they would have to stop to look for a place to spend the night.

They were passing by, what looked like the back of a large house with the backyard gate open slightly. Starscream halted and so did Perceptor. He turned to his mate and gently placed Jetfire down at his ‘mother’s’ paws, telling said ‘mother’ to, “Wait here with them.” The bright red cat gave him a gentle nod so not to disturb the kitten in his mouth and sat down, placing Jetstorm down with his twin as he watched the winged cat trot over to the open gate.

Starscream cautiously poked his head through the gate to see if it was safe. The backyard looked pretty big. It had a nice swimming pool, there was A LOT of room to run around, and there were bushes lined up against a tall, brick wall-perfect place to sleep. When the Abyssinian deemed it safe, he walked back over to his mate and gave the okay, bending down to pick Jetfire back up by the scruff. Perceptor did the same with Jetstorm and followed Starscream into the yard.

Starscream led Perceptor over to the far side of the yard where the brick wall was and stood in front of the green foliage, sniffing the air for scents of any possible threats that could be lurking inside the bushes. Thankfully there were none, and he took a step forward and made his way inside the bushes. When Starscream was inside, he moved over to his left to let Perceptor through. When Perceptor got inside, he moved to the center of the spacious bush and gently laid Jetstorm down on the cool, soft grass that was underneath them, earning a soft, tired mew from the little one.

The Scottish Fold smiled and moved to lie down and curl himself around his kit. Starscream then stepped forward and placed Jetfire down with his brother, the two instantly snuggling close to each other, and to the warm, soft fur of their ‘mother’.

Starscream couldn’t help but smile at the cute scene before him and bent down to lick the twins on their heads, earning little squeaks from both of them before walking around Perceptor and lying down next to him; snuggling close to the smaller cat’s side and wrapping his long, slim tail around his mate and offspring. Perceptor smiled and licked Starscream’s cheek affectionately before taking off his clear, yellow glasses and laying his head down on his paws; closing his eyes as he drifted off to sleep. Starscream returned the affectionate lick to Perceptor’s floppy ear, the ear twitching in response. Starscream chuckled and laid his head down as his eyelids shuttered close, sighing in content as he fell into a peaceful night’s sleep with his family.
