This is actually a pretty serious scene, with Randy and Joan. *deep breath*

BACKSTORY: After Jason is revealed to be 'Randy', the vampire who looked after Damon and Lilith in their childhood, Damon finds him and plots to kill him since Jason was inadvertantly the cause of Lilith's murder. Although Damon wants to seriously kill off Randy due to this betrayal, Randy can't bring himself to harm Damon any longer. Thus, his beaten up and wounded state.

ALSO, Joan is connected by bumping into Randy when she goes off to visit her family in order to heal from Romano's rejection of her earlier on. When she runs into Randy at a bar, she doesn't know anything about him and the two start talking and getting along very well. Delighted at having a new friend, Joan invites Randy back home to Vegas with her and he follows since he does't have a home any longer. Joan decides to introduce Randy to Romano.... not knowing that it was Randy who tortured Romano in a fit of pro-Turned madness.

After the reveal is where Joan realizes who Randy is, which definitely causes friction and broken trust. Then enters Damon who beats the living daylights out of Randy as mentioned above.

When Randy wakes up, he finds himself bandaged up....in Joan's clinic. She's still hurt and disgusted that Randy wasn't the guy she thought he was, but she finds that she has a strange attachment to him. She can't bring herself to let him be hurt and allowed for him to be taken to her clinic to heal. And so, tension.

END OF STORYLINE, whew!
