So much

World, opens and the light flutters in
before I can react, it flies from my grasp
I wanted it all,
saw it sparkling in my eyes in that
early December morning,
everything fell apart - with the coming of the snow.

My mind flew forward to the future,
my eyes fluttered as the light inward
scuttled.
You stared, and yelled - you can't understand,
you never will.

I wanted so much from you, but should have known.
A girl is just a girl, she'll never understand - what
the world is, outside of her youth and beauty.

I can still see it, beyond my eyelids - the world
shining brightly against the sea
yet, I'm here - so far from the coast,
and my eyes closed so that I can't see
'cause there's so much out there
that eats me alive.
Close your perceptions and feelings, and you'll
never know.
the hurt, and the pain that you drive into me.
