Description
Was bored and decided to hop onto the bandwagon a bit late.1.D&D: Probably my biggest inspiration. I remember looking at the 1st edition monster manuals my mom had and i always looked at them, and read a lot even though I didn't start playing until highschool. I even tried drawing the monsters lol Plus the concepts and ideas, world building...yes please
2.The Labyrinth: The style of this movie is really amazing and Jareth's outfit is definitely a big influence on many of my own character's clothing. Plus...that whole masquerade scene *melts*
3. : Makes me drool, big inspiration
4.Most 90s cartoons:Not just batman but Gargoyles,Pirates of Dark water,Johnny Quest and probably a bunch more I can't think of.
5.Disney
6.Enchanted World Series:These books and the D&D were the biggest. These books are so rich with beautiful artwork and mythology and stories I looked at them every time I visited my mom, eventually she gave me hers, I only have about 2/3 of the series though. These books have really impacted on my story and a big influence.
7. :I fell in love when I saw their stuff, I love the darker stuff and I fell even more in love when they started doing commissions for Wizards.
8.Michael Whelan: My most favorite fantasy artist of all time, his art is so beautiful and I always admired it even as a little kid, always looking at the Dragonlance and other fantasy related artwork. When i first made Sandro I always pictured him looking like one of the characters he had drawn with this enormous firey dragon, which is what his first outfit was based off of lol. That was back in 2002? I learned about him, of course he's still a big influence.
9.Lord of the Rings Trilogy:Never read the books but still... :0
10.Dreamworks Animation: The Road to El Dorado and The Prince of Egypt are the biggies!
11.Digimon: Oh please, digimon was 100 tims better than pokemon...they freakin talked
12.The Goonies:Liking the pirates before Potc ;D
13.Del Toro:His creature concepts and the way he portrays them is amazing and he has such a unique style. The whole death and dark stuff, it's beautiful and frightening...and inspiring.
14.Don Bluth: I always liked that he wasn't afraid to show a darker side of animation, I really admire that. Not saying that his stuff wasn't child friendly, but it was so much more realistic and I always loved his characters, and it's funny, all the movies he's made, I've actually liked all the female characters and the guys...so dreamy lol, plus the art style to top it off.
15.Star Wars: Bet you didn't see that coming. I love the star wars universe, it's so developed and the original story about the ultimate evil thing, good and bad. it may not have started from Star Wars but I've sure been influenced by it for my own story.
16.Beksinski:His art is so dark and surreal I love it and it really makes me want to think outside the box and wonder what gets to people, Just looking at his art is actually what inspired me to make the Obsidian Keeper in the first place, his world, his domain what I would like to imagine. It's so dreamy and freaky, his art always puts me into deep thought.
17.Myst: I used to watch my mom play the game, and I always just drooled over how beautiful the world was and how interesting it was. I couldn't compare anything to it. It was so interesting. I tried the game but it was too hard for my small brain lol
18.Undead and Liches: I don't know why but I always thought liches were the coolest things ever, making the ultimate sacrifice whether it's viewed as a gift or a curse as well with other undead like vampires. The physical change, the psychological change. The knowledge for power...idk I can't explain the whole undead thing, there's just something about it. The undead look definitely pops in my art I think personally
19.The History Channel: I hated it in school but T.V makes it so much more interesting. I like seeing the change and progression, I've learned a lot from it and I've incorporated a lot of what I've learned to my story without even really knowing it.
20.Ancient Egypt: I think Armillii has a lot of concepts that are like the ancient Egypt civilization. It was great once and suddenly crumbled, their gods, the battles are so interesting. The battle of Kadesh I had watched a thing about it and I thought it was incredibly interesting that my story had even acquired battle tactics that I think are similar to this battle to how Armillii was taken over.
21. Her sexy men,art style,her comic,EVERYTHING about her
Not necessarily revealing this in my art, but I feel these show through in my story as well
