It's been awhile since I've made a serious art piece. My total solar eclipse experience gave me the desire. There is a song from the Lion King Musical, "Endless Night", where Simba feels lost and is calling out to his father. He is feeling a mix of emotions; anger, sadness, guilt, and eventually, acceptance. During the eclipse, during the point of totality, there is this point of awe where it feels like time has stopped and this black hole of Heaven itself has opened itself.Β The stars, the planets, and this sky you have never laid eyes upon surround you. Your shadow is sharper than you have ever seen, the grass around you is a contrast that is odd, and the wind is cool and, with no better words to describe it, magical. At that point, I couldn't help but thinking back to the lyrics of that song and feeling the need to draw this.
"I know that the night must end
I know that the sun will rise
And I'll hear your voice deep inside"
I implore you to listen to this song if you have the chance. It truly is an uplifting song and amazingly sung. I hope you enjoy it
