Description
It was always more than a movement to usfreedom was the state of mind
and that's something they couldn't touch
slowly slipping away
fading into the empty gray
we see what we want to see
and know what we choose to know
ashes infest my lungs
and in an instant, i lose the privilege of breathing;
still wondering when you'll save me.
where did we go wrong?
as the darkness swallows the sun
the night cascades upon us, and the day is done
the stars devour the clouds
and we begin to gather into crowds
no regrets, no turning back
lightening strikes behind the rain
and i find it in myself to refrain
i lock it up, and i hide it all away
living in a society where thinking is forbidden
the dust has consumed my thoughts
and a slow breeze can blow them away
I'm filtering out my beliefs
they burn like fire to receipts
in an instant everything I've built up, is forcefully blown away
and the darkness has been thickening
as my heart beats are quickening
i take a breath, I'm ready to fight;
I'll fight until i see the sun end this night.
and then day comes, and there's nothing left to do but to run and hide
i live to die another day
when will the pressure to be who they want me to be go away?
for now I'll just walk along, as if i have nothing to say
but deep within me, a revolution is rising up
a reformation of the current situation
can't you see that this world has gone corrupt?
our seconds here are quickly passing by
ending us; just as quickly as we began.
i was once told to live each day live like i was gonna die;
it's not like I'm getting out alive.
A death sentence is what life gives;
Condemned to knowing our fates before we are given the chance to live.
