that i meant everything to you
not a thought in my mind
questioned whether or not it was true
the thought of you follows me around
and my footsteps follow my heart's rhythm
every beat, every pound
it beats so loud, i can't ignore it
i just go with it, it comforts me
like the sound of your voice, or your touch on my cheek
faster now, faster it beats on with confidence
not stopping until it finds what it may seek
we're slowing down now, but our hearts are still racing
not stopping, no need for pacing
they don't plan on slowing anytime soon
not stopping now, maybe not ever
because all i know is that it beats to a rhythm of it's own
when we're together
i can't describe the feeling of being under the fire of judgmental stares
because when I'm around you, you're my only fixation
it seems that you diminish all my cares
everything else melts away, no more frustration
you gave me a reason to hope again
and i trust in you, as you do in me

and i knew everything i needed to know, with that first look
