Description Av. 25 de Abril N247 - Sintra

I was driving to the beach to shoot some sunset photos when I passed by this place. I meant to shoot here for a long time ago.

The concept is kinda cliché.. the girl walking the path of her life.. not knowing what is to come.

I used a low aperture value to make the infinite blurry and the first plan focused. This way I´m trying to show that the future of our lives is always an enigma, and our destiny is already written thru this thin line. Her lighted head showing that He is always looking after her.

Our lives are based on balance... and if we can maintain that balance thru the years, certaintly there´s a good thing waiting for us all at the end of our journey. This good thing is called happiness, because I think, that´s what we are trying to achieve in each step we take on our lives.

The reason why we go to work every morning.. the reason why we get together with someone, the reason why we have children and educate them the best we can...

...to achieve that happiness that was already destined to us.

P.S.: The light dot above her hair is lens flare. I didn´t spot it at the time. This is the composition I like the most so I decided to upload this one even with the flare. It´s not intentional but as you can see I arrange a concept to it

when i saw it i luvd it jst cz it reminded me of my x-gf who wud walk on these thin elevated ridges at times and hold my hand for support but then i read ur comment n now i like it for another reason. Its really interesting how u can put a meaning to a photo, i find it rly difficult to do that. Good stuff!!

I am learning so much from watching you. Great shot with great thoughts. Balance, on a thin line is a difficult skill to maintain. You represent it well.

May be cliche, but I have a fascination with train tracks and this is one my favourite photos from one I've seen. Great black and white, just something special about this photograph

I like so much the depth on this picture, by the way the model do a great complement with the picture. Your concept is good, I think the same like you, the future is an enigma and everyday we write what we going to do.

Gosto mt da imagem e do conceito..., mas ñ gosto da luz protectora q a segue... :s fica estranho..., mas percebo a ideia! Já agora pa entender..., como a "fizeste"?

PhilipMatthews In reply to Anyry [2008-10-26 13:35:13 +0000 UTC]

Very nicely done. I may have preferred it without the solar flare (although I know they can be unavoidable) but I love the borders on it. Hill on one side, trees on the other. Also, the angle of the arms, it leads the eye quite well. The fall look is very nice on this shot. It adds that little extra to the tracks.

Thanks so much for the comment dear. An advanced critique for the first comment on this photo is indeed an honor. Thanks for sopping by and express your opinion! I corrected the flare effect a bit, but didn´t manage to remove it all
