Description So when WoL came out, I was surprised they didn't do anything with the idea of a High Templar and Dark Templar merging. I thought of a bunch of ideas for what this could do, but in the end they were too weird and not practical. Please share any cool ideas.

Yeah, I feel that Protoss needs a good glass cannon type unit, Carriers are currently the closest we have as far as I know.

Protoss has numerous "glass cannon" units. Voidray, Collossus, hightemplar, and even dts. Granted some of these aren't all that glass (because they cost so much), but I don't think it's an area toss is lacking in.

As Zeratul would say... "By the gods..."

According to the lore, when Dark-templar energies, and Light-Templar energies merge, they create a supreme form of psionic energy, one such discharge was used to kill the Zerg overmind (of course you probably know this already, but this is a recap). when Tassadar sacrificed himself.

I love the way the portrait looks, and the overall design of the entity itself (kickass, and beautiful), though if anything, it looks more like a "ghost" of a long dead Xel'naga fused with ancient technology. The spires and crystals throughout it's body resemble the crystals that make up Xel'naga ruins, and the patterning of it's metal-like free-floating sections also resemble Xel'naga origin.

As to it's potential abilities, I would assume it would have to be a glass cannon. My thoughts on its stats:

Psionic, Massive
HP: 25
Shields: 175 (+2 armor to it's starting shields, giving it a huge combat advantage)
Energy: 50 starting, 250 max
Attack: Damage: 20(+2 per upgrade), 30 (+3 per upgrade) vs Mechanical
Speed: 1.33
Range: 5
Movement Speed: 2.75
Abilities:
Overdrive, cost 100 energy, must be researched at templar Archives (150 minerals, 150 gas, 100 seconds) Effect: Increase the attack and movement speed of the target unit by 50% for 15 seconds.

Psionic Scream: Cost 50 minerals, comes with the unit, channeling time 1.5 seconds.
Effect: Stuns all units within a straight line in front of the Vindicator in a 8 unit range, for 3.5 seconds, deals 25 damage to all units within this line, X2 for othe Psionic units.

Psionic Supernova: Cost 200 energy, must be researched at Dark-shrine (dark templar building, cost 100 minerals, 100 gas, 80 seconds),
Effect: Sacrifice the Vindicator, channel for 5 seconds (not be attacked while in this state, but can be pushed around physically through unit collisions), deal 400 true damage to all units and structures within a 8 unit radius, with the same damage increments of a nuclear explosion.

^ This unit is op as all hell, even without it's default attack. But it certainly looks awesome. Would make a good campaign unit in LotV.

I like the idea of it looking like a Xel'naga, becoming closer to the beings that created them.

The speed and attack boost ability idea would be interesting. Imagine seeing a colossi with a speed upgrade! : ) Oh man, a supernova ability, that'd definitely steal the thunder away from Terran nukes. Thanks for the comment man.

You are most welcome, though it the "nuke" was inspired by this cutscene from the original starcraft. just go to the 1:08 and see the magic happen. [link]

As to it's over powered abilities, It could do with some tweaking, but I thought that since you are paying for a tier 3.5 unit, it might as well make a bang for all it's buck.

Abilities? Hmmm
-Overcharge: Hits mechanical units with an electrical charge, dealing AoE damage.
-Omnipresence: Pretty much works like a Neural Parasite, but with "infinite" range.
-Plasma recharger: Recharges the shields of units nearby.
