Ugh. Yes. I replayed Super Metroid last month, just because Metroid turned 30. It had been about a decade since I played it before that, and I couldn't for the life of me remember how to get Crocomire to move back. I ended up power-bombing him, which was a huge mistake. Beat him in the end, but it took a little bit of thinking to get him there.

Even though it can be difficult to time with Crocomire's rhythm, I find that jumping and shooting fully charged beams works best, using super missiles and regular missiles as a last resort. I play it very often, like once every other month or so, consistently for the past few years.

That's exactly what I ended up doing. We got into kind of a rhythm that worked out that way. I think I used missiles a little bit more than charge beam, but otherwise, it was just timing the jump to get over his arm when his mouth was open.

For sure. I can't claim to be a Super Metroid all star player, speedrunner or anything close to that, but I've done some sequence breaking that allows me to get the wave beam before you normally should be able to, so my charged beam is more powerful than missiles, but yep, when you get the timing right, it's fairly smooth sailing!

Yah on the SUPERNES...never really got to finish it because the routes are confusing if you don't pay close attention to it...

Yeah, it can be confusing at times, but I was able to get through it. You just have to explore.

The way I beat it was getting to an obstacle, then getting the item needed to get past the obstacle.

Oh but the problem really is when you short on life and enemies seem to be everywhere..You end up dying in a really hard to reach stage...
That's the frustrating part...
