Description
(Corolla, meaning the petals of a flower)My collaboration with eev11 !
We also took inspiration from the incredible fdasuarez along the way (colour scheme), having discovered that she's a favourite artist for both of us.
The process: We started with some sketches and concepts and ending up deciding to work with a black and white sketch of mine. Then it was over to eev11 for some shading. After that I took it into colour - which is when we first noticed/created the reflection of Fer's work, and of course we decided to run with it! From then on we passed it between us a few times refining the colours, shading, petal-things and generally rendering.

I really like the slight angle of this one, it looks great. I'm also finding myself strangely drawn to her hands, they;re really well placed. It's cool to see your style integrated with another artist and it has a beautiful effect.

So funny that you should mention the hands, since we had so much trouble over placement & rendering of the hands and arms. Β Yeah it's always interesting to see what two artists produce together.

HA really? It doesn't show, that or your attention to it worked out well. It is indeed.

It's funny how we both chose to mirror them the other way xD
I suppose our eyes work in different directions or something?

I guess so! I'm very particular about the way things face for some reason. I flip the image as I go along, but in the end profiles always have to face the left direction, and I tend to have the main lines or movement going a certain way. Instinctively just feels better. I think it's partly to do with having to draw from left to right when I work traditionally so I don't smudge, which made me draw heads on the left because I start with the interesting bit...and somehow that snowballed into liking my art to face a certain way in the end, I don't know?

It's the same for me, somehow i just liked it more the other way.. that matters to me as well haha.
I like profiles facing right, so i think we like to see things in the exact opposite directions maybe xD
I'm not sure how i came to draw the way i do, it's also just instinct.

Beautiful! Love her expression and the way her dress goes with the petals.
