That morning, Mheetu, Nala and the Pride woke up to a horrible sight.
Taka and Sarafina were gone.
Each Pride member took turns in saying good bye before Kinga and Mheetu carried them out to he buried.
The cubs were devastated at the death of the grandparents.
The elephants helped dig the hole for them and then carefully lay the elder lions in.
Rafiki walked over and lay some seeds upon the loose dirt.
"You may be leaving us physically, but never spiritually." He said.
Nala sniffed as she started to cry. "Goodbye, mom and dad...." She said, quietly. Kinga tucked her under his chin and nuzzled her.
"I hope that one day, I will be as great a King as you, dad." Mheetu said. Aina nuzzled his mane.
The Pride bowed in respect as the elephant began to bury the old King and Queen.
