Description

I started playing with high speed photography after I found there was a flock of Blue Jays stealing the shell peanuts that I feed to a squirrel.  I am calling this series of photos the "Blue Streak" after I discovered how fast these birds are when taking nuts. Three Jays either sit in a tree or on my patio fence. When I throw 2 nuts out my door wall to a squirrel, these Jays swoop down and take them before the squirrel can get to the nuts. I had to start feeding the squirrel at my door wall by hand.  I was able to get a few good shots of these Jays, either arriving or departing with nuts.

Here is a Blue Jay coming in to take a nut at my door wall's sliding track while I was standing there with a camera.
