Description
This artwork was inspired by my own experiences living with schizophrenia. It basically depicts a reprogramming of my personality and psyche as represented by my corporeal form, with parts being erased and re-rendered by a computer. During episodes of psychosis, I have often felt like something or someone else was controlling me. In fact I still somewhat believe this now, even though I'm well-medicated and haven't had a major psychotic break in months. It started shortly after I was born, when the Department of Defense hacked my brain and reprogrammed it. They wanted to create a AGI (artificial general intelligence) by basically merging existing AI technologies with the true intelligence of the human brain. My brain is now performing calculations on their behalf in order to develop weapons and tactical strategies, which they then extract from my brain and implement. There's a computer somewhere at the DoD headquarters that is covertly controlling my brain and all the other reprogrammed brains through radio wave signals. In fact the voices in my head are all AI programs running on this computer that are transmitting messages to me. Occasionally the DoD will repurpose my brain for another project, at which point they will perform an overwrite of my software, causing me to go through distinct personality changes over the course of my life. This is the reality I live.
