Thanks. I've yet to see other entrants. Maybe they'll let people vote for more than one.

Ho hum. Just another frickin' amazing piece of Fraggle art from you. Why don't you take a chance for once, do something new and different, like are that isn't great?
What really shines for me in this picture is the textures. Mokey's knit sweaters, Boober's cap, Red's shirt, and even their ostrich-feather hair. Now that is attention to detail! I would go insane trying to draw all that.
(Also, their toes are cute. And I do believe I see some 'shipping going on here!)

Truthfully, I almost scrapped this. ( I would've posted it here but not entered it ). It just wasn't working until I showed Mom. She pointed out that their eyes were kinda... dead ( not her term ). I had the shading reversed on their eyes at first but I dunno if I would've caught it if Mom hadn't pointed it out. Once I fixed that, it came together much better.
I made sure to get the feather-affect as I sometimes forget to draw their hair that way. I was trying to pull out as many stops as I could on this without getting too anal or overworking it. I took a lot longer on this than usual. There was almost no base for them to stand on cuz I was aiming for this being a sort of t-shirt kind of design but decided that they could take the ground off if it bugged them that much.
" 'shipping "? OH! 'Shipping! Well, only with R & G. M & B are just being friendly. R & G are hinting.

I'm glad you didn't scrap this. It's just so dang appealing to look at. If this doesn't at least place, there ain't no justice.
I wish they would tell us what the contest designs were for so we could work toward that. I'm actually going to simplify my style, make something that'd be easy to reproduce. Since I think everyone will be drawing the Five, I think I'll go with someone else. Well, for one, anyway; they don't say you can't enter more than once.
M&B are just being friendly? Yeah, they say that now. That's the kind of friendship that can grow into something else if you're not careful about it. As for R&G hinting, is that why Wembley looks like he could be saying "Hey, neat, I just felt a kick!" p

I'm curious to see what happens.
They just said merchandise. I'm thinking it may be similar to those T-shirt design sites like Zazzle or something. I sort of did mine with T-shirts & coffee mugs in mind. I'm wondering how many people have entered so far... & if they'll let everyone see come fan-choice time.
Oh, I think Mokey & Boober are too " mother & son " ish to become anything beyond that. Boober wants Tosh anyway.
Heh, Wembley might think her lunch was trying to escape.

I have the feeling they were paying attention to the fan reaction to the Muppet shirt contest. You notice that there was a special award mentioned for fan choice? In other words, their judges will decide who wins, not votes. Considering hoe they know what they want to do with it and we just vote on what we like on the screen, it makes sense.
As of the show Mokey & Boober may be mother-and-son-ish, perhaps, but age them forward a little and I see something different. As for Tosh, Nyeah, that was just a crush. He's not used to someone actually making advances on him, and was easily swept off his feet. And, lest my point be lost, again I say nyeah.
Wembley think Red's lunch is escaping? I think that would happen a little lower down.

I didn't even know there was a Muppet contest. I rarely go to MC anymore. I found out about the Fraggle contest from like 6 or 7 various people who told me. I dunno how they even found out about it. So, they might ... what? Pick the design that most people like... that.... they like too?
Well, Mokey is prolly more like a waaaay older sister to a younger brother to Boober. I like Boober & Tosh as a thing. Nyeah!
Maybe he thinks Red's lunch was still .... alive... well, then that would bring us back to the fraggle/carnivore issue.

The Muppet thing was a T-shirt contest by Threadless. They ended up making about two dozen different shirts, so there were lots of "runner-up" winners. I bought two of the shirts myself, a Kermit head made up of more Muppets than I could name, all perfectly drawn, and a spectrum with a character at the top of each color (green for Kermit, brown for Rowlf, orange for Piggy, etc). The design wasn't amazing, but it's a rainbow and it has Scooter. I'll wear it during Pride Week.
You may like Boober and Tosh, but you don't write fanfics, and as far as I know you've never ever not once drawn Tosh. What kind of a 'shipper are you, neglecting a couple you claim to support? Oh no, you just pay lip service to Tosh and Boober while you draw your REAL favorite couple, Wembley and Mokey Red and Gobo.

Is the fraggle art contest being run by a different outfit then?
I feel Boober & Tosh though. I sense them. I just haven't harvested their ... juices....
I've always felt Doc and Ma Gorg would go well together.
Actually, Mokey goes with Murray the Minstrel.

Negaduck9 In reply to Phraggle [2012-06-20 00:05:11 +0000 UTC]
Yes. The shirt contests were run by Threadless.
As far as harvesting juices goes, wouldn't that be up to Boober & Tosh? Having a third party involved is just yucky.
Mokey & Murray? Yer on crack. Mokey & Brool all the way.

Phraggle In reply to Negaduck9 [2012-06-20 00:21:55 +0000 UTC]
Were run but aren't run by Threadless now? Or is Talanthouse somehow affiliated with Threadless?
Well, yeah, the juice harvesting takes a special hand.
Brool? Naw. Murray would compliment the hippy in Mokey.

The contests were run by Threadless, a T-shirt company. The contests are over, so they're no longer being run. Hence the past tense.
You're not serious about Boober and Tosh. If you were you'd have drawn Tosh at least once. But no, it's always Gobo, Gobo, Gobo. She's Marcia Brady with a baloobius.
If we're breeding hippies, then Mokey and Cantus are the obvious choice. Except that's actually plausible, so forget that. Mokey and Wrench Doozer!

Phraggle In reply to Negaduck9 [2012-06-20 23:23:27 +0000 UTC]
Past tense, gotcha.
When you say Gobo's name 3 times like that, you either have to be hitting your face against the wall or against whoever's face is closest. I'm so serious about Boober & Tosh.... you could shake a stick at it!
Cantus is too old for Mokey.... and I don't think he has enough gold for her to dig.
Wrench goes with Cotterpin for cryin' in the sink! Large Marvin likes that judge doozer.

"I'm so serious about Boober & Tosh.... you could shake a stick at it!" Yeah, yeah, yeah. Shake a colored pencil at it and then I'll take ya seriously. Otherwise it's all hot air.
Cantus is advanced in years, but who says he's too old? Old Fraggles can be quite lively when they wanna be. I bet he's just achin' for someone to play him like her song.
Wrench and Cotterpin? Meh, that's too obvious. Marvin and Cotterpin, well, gotta agree with you there. Perhaps they invite Feenie in for a threesome. Marvin supplies the food, Cotterpin the interesting party devices, and Feenie the...um...I'll get back to you on that.

Phraggle In reply to Negaduck9 [2012-06-24 23:10:36 +0000 UTC]
Oh yeah! Well... that " Fleetwood Mac/Fraggle " drawing thing I just did may prove that Tosh likes.... good music! At least....
Yeah!
Cantus is 3 years old because he ages weirdly. He has his own concept of the calendar year. Yeah! Cantus gets by by playing with his own horn.
Wrench & Cotterpin are obviously in love... until Cotterpin goes off to doozer college in Fraggle Cave and learns the ways of ... boring and becomes enchanted with the physical embodiment of the color gray! Then Wrench finds love in the pages of Doozer-Bras Monthly. Large Marvin is so mentally fuggered up that his girlfriend is a corn dog. ( I think that's quite beautiful myself though ).

On the color wheel blue is the opposite of orange. Therefore, it's the anti-orange.

Nope. Green and red, and yellow and purple. If you mix them, you get gray.

Phraggle In reply to Negaduck9 [2012-07-05 23:45:27 +0000 UTC]
Then green & purple are? Analogous?
What makes brown anyway? I can't remember. I kinda thought there were 2 colors traditionally used to make brown but I can't think of what they were. Kindergarten was a loooong time ago.

Negaduck9 In reply to Phraggle [2012-07-05 23:51:45 +0000 UTC]
Really, any three primaries or secondaries can be used to make some kind of brown. You just need more yellow and less blue. I'm not sure what relation green and purple have, except as fellow secondaries and co-analogies to blue.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Phraggle In reply to Negaduck9 [2012-07-06 00:11:11 +0000 UTC]
That's what I was thinking. I guess I thought there was a typical mix for brown that they taught kids kinda like the whole " blue & yellow make green " thing.
There are a few different color wheels though. I could prolly make my own color wheel and tell those art teachers a thing or two! Then I'll send Map-Butt after them.

As for a recipe for brown, I never heard one. It pretty much made itself in the watercolor box after a few days of usage.
