Differential Character Anatomy Study PT 2

Facial structure.

This one really kicked me in the pants. I’ve heard MANY excellent artists say you should be able to tell the difference between characters in a profile view sans-hair and obvious features (Piercings and Tat’s ect). I’ll admit, I have a really hard time with this. I get into lazy ruts and it’s difficult for me to put forth the effort to make sure the face is identical each time it’s drawn.

That being said, it was quite interesting to develop each character the way they’d always been envisioned in my mind as. Camieo, has always seemed to be much pointer featured than any of my other characters, while I’ve thought Ell had a little chin bulge (from being much curvier).

Noses are, and have always been, my favorite human feature. I’ll always gush over an actors nose and my husband and friends just know it’s my thing. For 99.9% of Tumblr, it’s butts. For me? Noses.

But here are the girls, in the same order.

Camieo Wayne with her very pointy features and narrower eyes

Ryder with a rounder, softer look to her

Eilise Rosson, who’s features have always been modeled after the Vaudevillian women of their time (Rounder, fuller).

Edra Valka, who’s nose is by far my favorite (Are you noticing a pattern lol) to draw, and large, almond shaped eyes.

And finally Siku, who’s facial structure is full, broad but still quite feminine. She has the fullest lips of the group.
