Zimt made for as part of a trade.***Update! Check out her beaded version of Titan!
Beaded Version . . .Β Crochet Version . . . mind blown!
When I do trades it is usually for something I can't make or for something someone has made that I'm interested in. I haven't done one in a while but this was one I was excited to do. I did a crochet version of her character Zimt in exchange for a beaded version of Titan.
If you haven't seen her beaded work, I highly recommend going to her page. agentdoppelnuller.deviantart.c⦠Her bead works are amazing! Here are a few examples:
Zimt is crocheted with marker details and cut felt feathers that I then needle felted onto the body. Needle felting them was a much better way to do it for this since hot glue wouldn't allow as much movement in the feathers as needle felting does.

Thank you If you're just starting out, you can find a lot of free patterns at Ravelry.com. I went there when I first started.

Thank you! These markers happen to be a Primsacolor marker for the shoulder brown and Copic marker for the brown on the body, arms, and tail. I try to do as much work as I can with yarn, but when I can't find a yarn in a certain color or the way the markings are can't be done with yarn, I will use a marker. In most other cases I try to use fabric markers or sharpies. When I need a special color I can't find in those, I go to Copic or Primsacolor.

You're welcome! Β Thanks for the info. Β The copic/prismacolor/sharpie markers don't smear at all? Β

Not usually. If you are touching the part where you are coloring and working with light yarns you can smear it a little, but if you let it dry its pretty good. Fading is more of a problem than smearing. But usually two 'coats' will be enough to keep the color for a long time. Fine tip sharpies are excellent especially for small details around the eyes or a mouth.
