Greyhound counts as an NPC., How To ParticipateThe Turf Wars are a reoccurring event that takes place once a year, depending on the group's official event schedule. This is a team and point based activity with effort and RNG prizes to win by drawing or writing about your villager participating in the activity. All legal submissions to the event will earn points for your team!⭐ In order to participate, you must first register your villagers during the activity's registration period under the appropriate comment chain [HERE]. This is a mandatory step and important for team assignment: members MUST register their villagers in order to participate in the activity! Once registration is closed, no more entrants will be accepted while registered members will be randomly assigned a team the following day.A maximum of 2 villagers can be officially entered into the Turf War, along with any familiars they are bonded to. There are no differences between the rewards Villager 1 and Villager 2 earn, except for one: Villager 1 is the villager who will be awarded the special MVV Ribbon and crown if they are owned by the highest scoring member of their team. After team members are assigned, the event is officially live for approximately 1 month. All event art and literature should be submitted into the group's Special Events gallery folder within the event's participation period. Remember: A max of ten deviations can be submitted to the group each day. This limit is fixed by dA and cannot be raised by the mod team. Do not ask the mods or other members to submit your entries for you. With this type of event, it is expected that members may submit lots of entries that look similar due to point earning. Be sure to maintain quality in your work. Submitting many entries is acceptable, but farming (i.e. submitting very similar work with only very minor alterations, lots of entries that barely meet event requirements, or lots of entries that are a noticeable drop in quality from your usual gallery work) is not permitted. Please note that poor sportsmanship, guilt-tripping, or any other unwarranted behavior will result in a ban from all future Turf Wars, no exceptions. Everyone will be rewarded for participating, no matter who wins in the end!Lastly, Meg has provided each team with paint guns, slingshots, and giant sponge hammers for use in battle! Please do not depict your villager in situations that may not be suitable for the group's PG-13 rating., Q: Can my villager use magic in the battle? A: To keep it safe on the field, Meg has asked for villagers to avoid using certain magical abilities during the Turf Wars. Examples of disallowed powers include: elemental attacks (fire, water, earth, etc.) force fields, telekinesis, mind control, blessings, and curses. Physical abilities that only affect an individual, such as a raider's shadow abilities, being extra fast or strong, flight, levitation, durability, or heightened intelligence are permitted to be portrayed onscreen. Shapeshifting is allowed, but please keep in mind that your villager shouldn't be extremely large. Meg doesn't want to do any roof repairs any time soon!Earning and Submitting PointsWant to earn points for your team? Simple: submit artwork and literature about your villager in the Turf War! Are they more of an offensive or defensive player? What kind of weapon is their favorite? Do they work with others, or prefer to play alone? Are they injured, or do they help a fellow teammate out? There are no specific prompts you must follow: as long as your submission is legal for the event, it's fair game! The minimum requirements for the event are a Lined and Colored Fullbody or 500 words of your villager in the correct uniform. Villagers AND familiars must be in both pieces of their team uniform for event submissions. You don't want to be mistaken for an enemy, after all!The amount of points each entry earns is equal to the total bells it earns. For example, a lined and colored fullbody would equal to 1000 event points, since it scores 1000 bells. There is no maximum limit to how many points an entry can earn at once.EXCEPTION: Due to the nature of this event, items that adjust bell totals--such as the Lucky Egg Potion and Pogo Dolls--and Job Board Bonuses will be subtracted from Turf War scores to keep things fair for all players.Q: Can I portray villagers that aren't registered in the current turf war in my entries?A: Yes, as long as your registered villagers meet minimum submission requirements and are the primary focus of the piece.Q: Can I collab/roleplay with another member?A: Collabs and roleplays are allowed for Turf Wars, but keep in mind that all members involved will still earn the same number points for their team, even if you're on two different sides! At the end of the event, the Special Event folder will be closed, and a new comment chain will be made for submitting Turf War trackers: during the Turf war, you must track all your event points in a Turf War tracker in order to be entered into the final results. Below are official Turf War trackers that can be copied for personal use, with instructions on how to use under the rightmost column:[Team Kraken Tracker][Team Phoenix Tracker]Q: Do I have to use this tracker, or can I make my own (Google Sheets, sta.sh, etc.)?A: Using this tracker is highly encouraged, but not mandatory. However, other trackers must have linked entries and Battle Zone bonuses clearly labeled for submitting at the end of the event, or you may be asked to include these things before your team points are logged. Q: I'm having a problem with the official tracker!A: If you are experiencing any issues with the official tracker, please describe the problem in this comment chain [HERE] and a mod (@Space-Sburbian) will help you as soon as possible. Please do not ask about the official tracker in the Help Hub or # Town-Hall Channel in the Discord server! This is so your question can be seen and answered easily without potentially burying any non-event related inquiries.Once you've gathered all your entries into a tracker, remember to reply to the appropriate comment chain at the end with your completed tracker before the point tally period ends! If you don't submit your tracker for tallying, all your points will be disregarded for the final team scores and you will be unable to collect your event participation rewards. Battle ZonesWant to earn even more points? Depicting a villager in their ticket's corresponding Battle Zone will double the amount of event points your piece is worth! This bonus can only be applied one time per piece, but you only need to portray a villager in their Battle Zone once for the whole piece to be doubled regardless of any other locations or villagers depicted. The villager must meet minimum submission requirements (Lined and Colored Fullbody / 500 words) in order to count for the bonus.Note that this bonus only affects event points: bell earnings are not doubled. See the following information below to see where your villagers can join the fight! The Turf Wars take place in a separate location called the Battlegrounds, located on it's own property between Lilypad and Willow City. Inside of the Battlegrounds are 5 sections known as the Battle Zones, each with an advantage for a specific ticket type. It is recommended to list the Battle Zones in your description whenever your submission counts for the bonus., Zone 1 - Standards,A vast, open area for the front lines of the battle planted proudly in the center of the Battlegrounds – there aren’t many places to hide out or try any tricks, meaning it’s all about raw strength and skill. Standard villagers do their best here! Zone 2 - Mythicals,An obstacle course with lots of raised platforms, beams, ditches, and hazards–this is the place for players keen on showing off their unique attributes (or enjoy dunking people into the paint river), because Mythical villagers rule the roost! (Dimensional villagers, too!) Zone 3 - Raiders,This zone is a maze filled with tight twists, turns, and corners…and a fog machine. It’s pretty dark, and you can get ambushed if you’re not careful. Just like the Hollow Forest, Raiders have the advantage! Zone 4 - Witches,The ultimate zone for the strategists: take advantage of each hiding place–inside forts, behind walls, and underneath arches–and strike when your opponent is caught off guard. Witches are prepared to face anything, after all! Zone 5 - Familiars,A mismatched assortment of what appears to be playground and agility course equipment, which can only mean one thing: this area is dominated by the Familiars! (Meg would be remiss to leave them out, after all) In summary: drawing or writing about your registered villagers in their ticket type's Battle Zone will double your entry's event point value one time as long as the villager meets minimum submission requirements in their zone at least once! , PRIZESWhether you want to contribute to your team, become the Most Valuable Villager, or take it nice and slow, all participants will have a chance to earn all kinds of rewards! Each registered villager and familiar who meets minimum requirements in at least one entry will be eligible for the following: Their team's uniform, free of charge The Defended My Turf RibbonTheir corresponding Team Ribbon All contributing members of the winning team will receive the following: All participation-level rewardsTheir team's fruitThe Team Turf Triumph Ribbon The highest scoring member on each side will be crowned their team's Most Valuable Villager and receive the following: All participation-level rewardsMVV CrownMost Valuable Villager Ribbon for Villager 1x2 Common flowers from the Maple LogTop-Tier Prize of Choice Q: What happens if my team doesn't win? Will the fruit never be released?? A: No need to worry--the losing team's roster will be reset and pitted against a new team for the next Turf War. In addition to the effort-based rewards, Meg has stashed some hidden treasures throughout the Battlegrounds for the keenest of eyes! For every Simple Background or 500 words an entry contains, a random prize encounter will be rolled and you'll receive a comment on your deviation with your villager's findings. Unlike the Battle Zone bonus, this can stack, meaning multiple rolls are possible for a single entry as long as requirements are met. Please note that an entry's random encounter will only be rolled after it is accepted into the Special Events folder. (If it's accepted after the event period, don't fret: you will still get your roll as soon as possible!) Random Encounter Rolls Pick-a-Team Voucher (Limited quantity (x10); Limit of 1 per member per war) [1] Nothing [2-20] Medicine [21-35] Event Clothing [36-45] Standard Villager Ticket [46-55] Fish or Bug of your team's color [56-65] Lilypad or Nightshade Flower of your team's color [66-75] Color Potion of your team's color [76-83] Random Potion [84-90] Abandoned Uniform [91-95] Stray Familiar (Limit of 1 per member per war) [96-100] Pre-Event registration ends July 2nd 11:59 pm HST Event begins on July 4th and ends August 4th 11:59 pm HST

Last year I was away when the event happened so I only did one image of Flax. Of course the motivation hits when I need to be doing something else. So I gave myself one day to see how far I'd get. So here it is! I know there is a lot of open space but nothing was really feeling right to fill it. Needing something in perspective, with a good pose, and having an interesting character was taking too long so I skipped it. If I have some more time before it closes I might add something, but probably not!

Also lol at the headband on the lil alien, their head is not shaped for this.
