Description
Was asked to design an Ethereal from Warhammer 40,000, the idea was to make a to take the virtues of wisdom, kindness and nobility and try to create a character that seems to embody these qualities. This process went through a few iterations but these 3 are the starting point for the final round of concepting the design, ultimately 3. was chosen and from there I worked on refining the design (the designs will be posted shortly in seperate posts).

Some background on said ethereal: Aun’O Kath’lan is the prime ethereal of the eldest Sept that contains the home world itself. He is wise beyond his years but is a relative newcomer to the Council of the Highest having spent the majority of his service overseeing the development of countless worlds within the second and first spheres.

He believes in a more traditional approach to the role of the Aun rather then the more radical notions of his former political rival Aun’Va. Rather then dictating the means and actions of the Castes directly, Aun’Kath’lan believes in more autonomy while the Ethereals should advise as was Empire under the guidance of Aun’Wei.
