Quick lighting study. Tried to color a sketch but it still looks pretty rough. Damn, this is so hard! >.<Sorry for the recent inactivity guys!! I'm trying my best to learn how to do basic color. My goal is to able to begin my next project by the end of January *fingers crossed*
Sketch made traditionally, colors made entirely digital this time.

What I find awesome about this is how the color is done digitally this time. I love that watercolor look via a digital method! I never knew you could make it look so watercolor... esque(?). It really is cool how you can do that. I thought it was completely watercolor and you just scanned it in! Awesome job with not only that but the light and mood and anatomy; this is just really, really well done. Far better than anything I can produce and far better than what I would even aim for haha.

The study is well done and the lines aren't rough, you catch the perfect little left morning light from a window. For me, it's very clear to be a sketch (i saw others almost black lol) and the picture can be appreciate in a good way

I think it is a good study, I can tell that the light source is to the left and possibly elevated. Since I don't know much about shading and lighting myself I can't give too many pointers, but since you said this was a mere study and so far it looks good I think you won't have many problems for long! Practice makes perfect!!

Personally I prefer this "sketchy coloring". I feel that it's more warm and emotional than "cleaner" forms of coloring.

Good job, though I would colour in her fingers a bit more so people don't mistake it for being a non-fitting light source. Also, what happened with his cheek? What is that line? I would remove that line, as it follows the lighting and makes it really stand out, which it shouldn't as much... I have a question, I hope you don't take offence at all. If you don't mind, can you message me the original scan or photo? (Without colour I mean) And I will use digital watercolours to show you how I would do it. Don't know if it will benefit you, but you may find something that you think might improve your colouring skills?... Of course I won't use it for anything else, just doing my own colour and sending my version to you. That will be it. Man, I sound so self-centred... It's okay if you don't message me the scan/photo, then I will know I have crossed the line. You're getting better!
