Am I the rare one afraid of the whole idea behind the love itself? Well, I assume it's only because many people in nowadays community use the word wrongly and it makes me hate it. Either they don't really mean it or they use it to deceive us. Anyhow, I am scared of the current idea of love, as for the idea of the love I know, well that one is great, however it's just me again...

He's supposed to. Seeing as his name is Icarus, this is based off of Greek mythology where he flew too close to the sun so his wings melted (since they were made of wax and feathers). Yet he never melts in this artist's depiction.

First of all, spectacular work like always man
I'm terrified of being in a relationship, period. My mom and dad got a divorce, and in the middle of it, my father took his life (not just because of the divorce, other reasons played into why. Ironically, the day I'm typing this is the two-year mark since he died), and all of those events left me with abandonment issues and a cynical view about many things concerning love. Trust me, I'd love to be in a relationship, but now whenever I meet people I'm just like, "Oh hey, it's another person I won't ever see again in the future. Whoop dee freaking doo." So, instead of being in a relationship where I'll screw up or he'll screw up and it'll all end in a fiery blaze (No pun intended), I'm going to appreciate being single. And even then, there aren't a lot of options for me because teenage boys at my school are some of the dumbest, most immature beings on the planet -_-
So yeah! I added my confession onto here! Glad to know I'm not alone XD

I definitely would wait until after highschool to even worry about it. Boys are not even evolved at that age (most of them) and some never do. Though I can say the same for some women. I'm not saying you couldn't meet anyone, but I remember highschool myself and it doesn't fill me with optimism.

I know I don't know you, but still.... *hugs* You are NOT alone in feeling like that. Granted, I don't have your personal history, but I felt like that for many years. Enjoy life, enjoy being single, and IF the right one for you comes along - great. But you're still at school - you have your whole life ahead of you to meet someone. I was single for the entirety of my 20's, and completely happy. (I'm 30 now and only just embarking on a new relationship).

I guess I've been thinking hard about that because I really do want to be able to have a different story from my parents and actually be together for life. But when I look at what usually goes wrong in relationships and when I take into account what's happened in my life, I feel like that dream is further and further away, and that causes me to push away guys that actually have crushes on me. And I guess I'm sad about it because I've always been a hopeless romantic, reading (good) romance stories, falling in love with fictional characters, stuff like that, and when I can't even have that sort of love in my life, it's saddening. I'm adjusting though, and I know my choice to be single will pay off in the future.

you know i personally think of a relationship as a choice, a choice both persons have to make to stay together no matter what, to fight and to keep in mind why you started a relationship. Also it should be important that you have similiar personalitys and interessets so when the honeymoon phase at the beginning is starting to cool off, you still have something in common you know, something you can share with each other. You should probably look out for someone who in his mind and espcially in his behaviour shows that he wants a long lasting relationship, who takes it serious and won't let go eventhough you maybe have said no in the past, which doesn't mean you should be cold as ice towards him just a sweet balance between interrest and distance y'know. He should be willing to do something for the relationship with you but give him treats here and there so he doesn't think he doesn't stand a chance. Maybe this'll help you to find someone some day, most important is to never give up and he never wants to give up (so i guess it should be someone with a fighting spirit not only in love but in life too), maybe someone with a goal he goes after like starting a family and having a good job later in life. BTW This is just my idea and it'S just an advice and i don't know if it'll actually help you( It's in you to make something out of it if you want to lol). oh and one more thing i guess could be very important to you is that to fight and argue in a realtionship is absolutly normal, to me it'S healty you tell the other person how you feel and what bothers you adn him too, it's a Part of the 'communication in relationships' thing but when you fight never forget BOTH of you should be willing to respect the other and give in sometimes, be realistic, soo in the end you both want to find peace again and will find it ^^ sorry for the long post ... maybe it helps you, and sorry if it didn't or is off topic. I remember first seeing Icarus and the Sun (at least an early variation) back in first 365. I am so glad you decided to make a run of these. It speak not only your skills with pen and ink but truly to your skills as an artist.
