grazie, è un soggetto che mi è caro ed è molto comune nei pittori simbolisti e preraffaelliti (Hunt e Millais su tutti),
anche se nella maggior parte dei lavori il vaso è presentato integro, la mia è una libera interpretazione, era da tempo che volevo
realizzarne una mia versione e cercavo una figura femminile a cui ispirarmi (non posso permettermi modelle...), poi ho trovato la splendida opera di Enaston, era perfetta, una figura senza tempo che esprime una grande sofferenza ma questa con quella mano davanti che le copre il viso è trattenuta, è un dolore che quasi pudicamente è intimo e nascosto non gridato o esibito...
avrei voluto anche fare una pianta più grande ma avrebbe coperto troppo la figura, ero poi tentato di mettere la luce
dietro alla testa come un'aureola come a santificarne l'amore tragico e la sofferenza ma poi ho preferito mettere la zona di luce tra Isabella e il vaso a rappresentare il fatto che comunque la forza dell'amore illumina ed è ancora vivo ancora tra i due comunque e nonostante la morte
mi piace lavorare sul legno e le imperfezioni e le macchie che si vedono sono le venature naturali...
