6: She didn't take care of Flame Princess
Bubblegum didn't have the time, or was in the position to take care of an unstable fire child with powers controlled by her emotions. She's a princess with a kingdom of fragile candy people to take care of. Β
Flame princess was very dangerous, and the best place for her was the place where her heat powers wouldn't do any damage: the fire kingdom. Princess bubblegum couldn't have told her father to actually fully take care of his daughter, because he would've refused. Instead she had to come up with a solution that her father could agree with, and one that could let Flame Princess live in the flame kingdom.
So PB built a container for FP to live in while she grew up and hopefully learned to control herself a bit more. If she didn't learn to control it, (which she didn't) PB planned to return and try to find a way to make FP's emotions stop being directly linked to her her outbursts.
Now, you might ask "why didn't she just experiment on FP when she was a baby?"
Babies are more fragile and easy to scar for life than early teenage girls. You can't explain to a baby what and why you're doing something, and experimenting and testing on a baby was probably too risky. And PB probably thought there was a slight chance FP could grow to control her powers. Unfortunately she didn't.

He was trying to hit on Flame Princess throughout the whole ep, when she was clearly not interested. It's weird, he's being less heroic than usual and kinda douchey. His change in behavior makes me worried. I didn't expect this from him.Β

Uh. Ok first things first, when he was a kid, she didn't laugh like "haha you'll never be a princess" she laughed like "aww thats so cute". And then later on, she probably didn't recognize him from the orphanage and just thought he was some crook who wanted her crown and held hostages.Β
That's a crime, you know. She can't just let him go free cause Jake says he promised to go away. In her kingdom, the punishment for taking people hostages could very well be lifetime in prison, and for good reason. And besides, in the end, after examining him more closely and actually getting to know his problem, she didn't put him in the dungeon. She put him in a mental hospital for attempted suicide. And that's perfectly ok.Β
