Description
WOWIE After a million years, I've finally finished another one of my MYO's, this time my Lantern Dragon! *U* His name is Geo Squared, but you're free to just call him Geo. I'm totally into math and just... love it lots, so I decided to make him based off of it to see if I could pull off another math design like I did with Logic:Instead of being involved with general mathematics, Geo is only interested in geometry and trigonometry.
Backstory
It was a quiet calm evening in the mountains where a scientist, probably an astronomer or something like that, was studying the clear starry sky. They had notes thrown every which way with one set of notes used as a napkin to hold their sandwich. They went away for just a moment or two, but when they came back, their geometric notes and sandwich dinner had become a crater! Bewildered by the phenomenon, the scientist thought for a moment that combining sandwiches and math notes would make some sort of explosive reaction. Upon a closer look however, it turned out to be something much more extraordinary!
A tiny creature crawled out of the rubble that appeared to be dazed at the moment. It looked like some sort of cat, but a cat that could create craters? Before the scientist could fully see what it looked like, it scrambled pass them at top speed, knocking the scientist over into the bushes. It frantically chased after anything giving off light, first the scientist's small flashlight (which then fell into the far depths below when the scientist was knocked over), then after the fireflies swarming the area. Finally it set its eyes on the most beautiful source of light: the scientist's lantern.
This lantern was created by a friend of the scientist's just for them... and much to their dismay, this creature wanted it. They tried to tell the creature "no" and blocked it, but they were met with loud hisses and bearing teeth. In the end the little beast won, tying their prize to their tail with nearby string. Eventually it chased off the scientist from their equipment and notes, leaving the scientist helpless after watching the beast for days fiddle with tools and hoard all their journals. After a week of observing (well more like helplessly peeking from a bush), the scientist began to realize the creature seemed to only hoard the notes with diagrams of constellations. They were able to retrieve many of their notes, but figuring out how to get the other notes back from the creature was a puzzle.
Over the next few days, the scientist brought new notebooks and back-up equipment to finish where they left off. Mysteriously sometimes their sandwiches and food would disappear. It had to be the creature of course, it was annoying to say at the least. Then it it them; they could lure the beast with sandwiches away from their notes! They tried this idea and... got results they didn't prefer. Mostly hissing and slapping the food out of their hand and running away. Confused and frustrated, the scientist was about to give up all hope for getting their notes back. As they were packing, they noticed trails of... crust. They followed the trail to the beast surround by sandwiches. It was trying to cut them into shapes it seemed, but wasn't have the best of luck and throwing them to the ground. It was then the scientist gained another idea!
The next day the scientist walked up to the creature's pile keep only to be met with hisses. The hissing ceased with the scientist showed a few cookie cutters; this intrigued the creature, and it observed the technology closely. The scientist displayed what the cookie cutters could do by using them on sandwiches to make perfect triangles, stars and other shapes. In just moments after cutting up the sandwiches, the beast gobbled them up. Excited by this discovery, the creature stared up at the scientist as if to be waiting to be given the cookie cutters. The scientist refused to hand them over and then gestured to the pile of notebooks. The creature's excited gaze soon turned into a growling glare realizing what the scientist wanted. After a few huffs and grumbles, the creature agreed to the trade. When given the cookie cutters, it only gave half of the notebooks to the scientist. It only gave them the rest once they gave the little beast a bunch of sandwiches to keep with a bag to carry everything in.
Since then, the little creature, being a Lantern Dragon, had began their journey onto the mountains and onward!
Paragraph Bio
This Lantern Dragon calls himself Geo Squared, but Geo is acceptable. Don't be fooled by his cute permanent smile, he is a very grumpy and demanding creature. His obsession with the math subject, geometry, has driven him into many adventures which end with glorious "perfectly shaped" treasures. Some of these treasures include textbooks or notes about geometry, square or other shaped objects, and cut up bread. He is now a Spark that can read numbers very well and will read any language if necessary to gain more knowledge about geometry. While he is mostly active during the day, sometimes he has all-nighters when studying. Fortunately his lantern attracts fireflies that help him be able to read in the dark.
When interacting with others... he doesn't. He keeps silent and indifferent about other living things, even his own kind if he falls upon them. As long as they do not touch his treasures, he'll be fine with other lantern dragons or stardusters being around.
Do NOT show him circles or anything close to the shape. They upset him greatly as he cannot understand their existence at all and how they can be deemed as "perfect" but not have a straight line in sight. Geo dislikes roundness in general, which is why he tends to have low self-esteem with his body image. He's very self-conscious about how he looks and will hide in a corner if complimented for his roundness. If only he could have been fully geometrical!
