Yay, another one into my collection of TF fan characters.

Residence: Neutralzone
Occupation: Window cleaner.
Boss: Tank
Faction: Decepticon
Gender: Identifies as male. He/him.
Age: 3 years since activation as a full-sized and learned Transformer.

Born to become a miner/gatherer of resources like metals on a conquered world. Spider alt-mode was useful in the environment for all sorts of work due to rough terrain. Vehicle or a flier wasn't very efficient unless made for space traveling.

But carelessness made one protoform scan a male version of the jumping spider instead of the female one, and the bot ended up being a lot smaller than all the others. Plus the lazy check-up on the programming of him ended up with Riddle speaking sentences that didn't make sense even if words were understood. He got the nickname "riddle" because of that and after his coding was fixed the name was stuck. Talk about a rough-Monday-morning-after-a-party-weekend kind of a thing that happened.

He ended up cleaning the place with other maintenance bots because they couldn't figure out better things to do for a lot smaller bot. Sure he was excellent at finding things, too, because of reaching places others didn't bother trying; Ventilation shafts, narrow places like between a wall and a machinery, ect.

Until opportunity presented itself to move on to another place due to resources getting scarce on the planet, and higher-ups decided it was time to reduce the number of people working there. Riddle was curious and chose to leave. During the transportation the news got around of Megatron disbanding the Decepticons and the transport ship just dropped people off at the nearest outpost and everyone just split up. Imagine a group that consisted of mainly spider-looking giant robots just roaming around among other alien races! It didn't help that some were carrying quite a huge Decepticon sign on their bodies. One would say that it was Riddle's luck that no one bothered with his logo design.

Outposts were way too busy for Riddle to stay because he liked being alone, still does, thus going through a lot of places until he met Tank. Tank was washing hubcaps in the middle of a night in one corner of yet another outpost, in her washing shop, and the little spider got curious and looked at the big yellow bot from the open door with a lot of questions in mind. In the end Tank noticed him and simply asked if he was looking for a job. That startled Riddle bad, and out of habit of being scared by his former superiors in anger, the spider-bot shrieked "yes" out of fear.

That's how he ended up working for Tank, and to respect his wishes, Riddle got the most secluded jobs she could find for him. He liked it, and she got a diligent worker. Even when Tank eventually expanded her work and moved the headquarter into Neutralzone, Riddle followed and got the most introvertic jobs ever, like washing the top of the tallest towers and waxing the decorations up there even if no one really paid attention to those places. A paid job was a job. If the building needed cleaning, he'd do it. Maybe his work makes scenery photos look better! Who knows.
