Description Knock Out is calling! He is eager to smack you down!

When one paper isn't enough, use two! I think my eyes went haywire a couple of times when I tried to fix the perspective for this, gruuuuu T^T; Stupid paper edge didn't want to cooperate with me or with my camera. And my hand hurt a lot from the position. All we do for art, huh?

Mmmhm. I need to figure out something for the paper edges >:I

Knock Out - Transformers Prime © Hasbro ect.

tools used: pencil HB + 4B, eraser, camera, Photoshop CS5 to edit uglies and stuff!

Yours truly, the pencil, used in this picture was not harmed and was used very carefully. The pencil says hellos from my pencil-case.

Schmedderling In reply to ??? [2012-12-07 00:21:04 +0000 UTC]

You're boggling my mind with how awesome this is. How long did it take to draw? And how exactly did you make sure the perspective lined up? Did you draw the upright part with it upright?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

pika In reply to Schmedderling [2012-12-07 08:52:32 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I don't remember exactly but I think this took around six hours? The whole image was done from a crooked position, otherwise the perspective won't match reality. Basically I had to compare the lines constantly with the character's perspective with the surroundings. And even with that, there's a lot of mistakes I noticed later on

I'm totally in love with the way you've drawn this, it's almost as if Knockout is separate from the background, like a paper cut-out or something. XD

Great work~

pika In reply to PrancingRaptor [2012-12-03 08:06:32 +0000 UTC]

I bet doing it the paper cut-out style would have been LESS pain in the aft >XD Thanks ;D

Well you did an excellent job at it anyway, I would never be able to pull off something like this. XD

You're welcome. X3

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

pika In reply to Bluetabbycat [2012-10-23 19:33:38 +0000 UTC]

By looking from the side and drawing "correctly" without following the paper's flat shape ^^

Ty-Chou In reply to ??? [2012-10-23 00:14:51 +0000 UTC]

This is absolutely amazing. It kinda broke my brain a little. I have such a difficult time with perspective anyway, trying to wrap my head around this almost makes smoke come out my ears. I just think you are a perspective genius to draw this and I can't stop looking at it. I totally want it in my hands in real life so i can turn it all around and look at it.

Such a great idea for art practice, too. Maybe I will try it myself, I sorely need the practice anyway.

Amazing job!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

pika In reply to Ty-Chou [2012-10-23 19:43:26 +0000 UTC]

Thanks you! I like to think perspective is my strongest area in art, rest are a lot more mehhh >:I Then I did a third piece of 3D art and everything went wrong and I'm back to starting point Trial and error, heh. Back to practicing I go~

This might give you a bit of an idea how I did it: [link] ;D

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ty-Chou In reply to pika [2012-10-25 15:54:37 +0000 UTC]

Yes, it's all practice, practice, practice. And I should do more pushing through it instead of shying away myself if I want to get better. Thanks for this picture! It will help a lot!
