Personality: Personality-wise, Tau is very much the picture of a Partner (albeit one tossed to the curb). In general, they're a friendly sort... perhaps a little too physically affectionate, really, and used to constant company - to the point where they feel quite uncomfortable alone! (Thank goodness bunkmates are mandatory.) They really, really, want to do well, and especially want to be told they're doing well. Unfortunately, considering they're freshly kicked-out of the good guys' side, their moral compass could use some good old-fashioned tarnishing - they'll probably be the one to go "uh, that seems a little extreme" over totally non-extreme things, from a criminal's point of view. Give it time - they'll learn eventually. Due to their poor experiences with failure, they have a tendency to fight until long past the point retreat is due; whether this is a positive or a negative depends on the situation. You'll have a training buddy for life, but their fainted butt might have to be physically dragged from a routine spat with the local Jennies. Oops.

Bio: A beloved Partner Pikachu... or, well, so they believed. Tau was the sole confidant of a young Trainer from a faraway region, their starting Pokémon and their only Pokémon. They trained hard, fought hard, and won battle after battle, badge after badge, for many years - journeying over many regions, growing up along the way. Everything, in Tau's opinion, was perfect.

("Huh? What's wrong with you?")

... was. Perfect.

Until that fateful day they fell to a hideously powerful Pokemon - a god among them! A Legendary creature they finally... couldn't surmount.

("Why won't you evolve!? You have to! I'm your Trainer! You belong to me!")

A Pokémon that didn't want to evolve (didn't you say i was perfect, just the way i was? did you forget?), versus the will of a Trainer whose drive to finish their research (complete their collection) simply couldn't be stopped.

("I don't have a Raichu yet, either... enough is enough! You're evolving, right now! Rrrrgh!")

[What? PIKACHU is evolving?]

[Congratulations! Your PIKACHU evolved into...
... uh...]

Tau evolved, all right. Evolved... sort of.

("GAH! W-What!? What the hell is that!? What happened!?")

Tired, heartbroken, and alone, Tau wandered aimlessly through the town they'd been abandoned in for quite some time before -

It wasn't their fault that this all happened, was it?

It was all that stupid Legendary's fault!

If not for that one, insurmountable obstacle - Tau wouldn't have been kicked out. Tau would have been strong enough. Tau would still be a beloved Pikachu and not -

And so, they decided.

They were going to become strong. Stronger. The strongest, become powerful enough to right their own wrong - to win that battle (that, surely, had been the one cause of all this) and prove to their Trainer that...

Well. They were going to prove something. They were going to destroy that awful Legendary Pokémon if it was the last thing they ever did, no matter what it took.

(Even if it took joining a group that once had been their enemy.)
