Los nómadas de las tierras exteriores vinieron buscando campos de cultivo y decidieron parar a descansar en el lecho de un río, gobernado por una pequeña islita con un árbol de cerezo que todavía no había florecido. Como ya era tarde, decidieron quedarse a pasar la noche y partir de nuevo a la puesta de sol, pero al levantarse por la mañana, los nómadas observaron estupefactos cómo el árbol se había cubierto de preciosos pétalos rosados durante la noche. Tomándolo como un signo de bonanza, los nómadas decidieron asentarse en aquel lugar y construir un templo en torno al árbol. Aquel pueblo pasó a llamarse Taiyoukawa, pues con el sol reflejándose sobre las aguas del río, había nacido su nuevo hogar.

The nomadic from the outer lands came looking for farmlands and decided to stop to rest in the stream bank of a river that had a small island in the middle with a cherry tree that hadn't blossomed yet. As it was late, they decided to spend the night there and continue their journey at dawn, but as they woke up the next day, the nomadic watched astonished that the tree had covered with beautiful pink petals during the night. Taking it as a sign of prosperity, the nomadic decided to settle in that place and to build a temple around the tree. The town was named Taiyoukawa, as with the Sun reflecting in the river water, their new home was born.
