Totomise have the ability to harden their tail to increase its weight, it becomes as hard as iron and allows the pokemon to quickly sink and descend away from any enemies. Even though it can lighten its tail, the natural weight still makes Totodile somewhat slow in the water. It uses the seaweed tendrils around its body to capture prey and bring it towards its strong jaws to make up for its lack of speed. Totodile often floats on the top of the water with their seaweed stretching the surface, waiting for something to touch it and trigger a snap.
