Description So this is 3 hrs into a 15 hour pose in a class I am taking with Ryan Wurmser. It is a situation where we basically work on whatever we want for the next 4 weeks. In the end I will have a nice painting of it I hope.

My goal was to take this as far as possible.

So far this is the lay in. Trying to get all the bits in the right place. Ill post again after the next day of work on this.

Please start checking as I will eventually only be posting there.

Cheers,
-Craig

Three hours? You need to work faster, my friend. You seem too timid and calculated in getting the lines down.

I don't believe I said he was in the Renaissance just that I was focusing my efforts in the direction of those two guys. I was even trying to be careful with how I phrased that HAHAHAHAHA.

But yeah...he was really bad ass. He falls into a later era but his spirit was in the past. He was taking his time and was a master technician with his work. I think him and Michelangelo are guys who knew how to make a drawing or painting crawl off the 2D plane. There are others, but these two get the point across.

Bouguereau isn't Renaissance, he's 19th century. He was painting the same time as the Romantics and Impressionists, he just had an indirect, realistic approach when everyone else had moved on. He's one of my favorites.
