I picked a Purugly to have a cat motif, and the idea of her riding her own curly tail like a broomstick was charming.

I picked Neemon as a nice little contrast with Purugly's size and base color. They look nice together. As a side note, did anyone else watch Digimon Frontier when it aired? Neemon was the Keeper of His Pants, and he was such a goofy little guy.
