Description --- ONLY USE THE COLORS THAT ARE IN THE IMAGE ALLREADY!

---- Im sorry, MY mistake, but this is NOT the official standard cga palette!

----- The grid is not going to be enlarged any more! So the tiles that are visible now is are that is going to get filled, nothing more!


Pick an empty tile, fill it with art, using just the colors of the standard CGA palette (its in the image. don't add any other colors!), post the new image in the pax forum (CGA tiles thread) and you are done! We will upload them onto the image..

Rules:
You may not add more than 1 tile at a time. Wait untill someone else made a tile before you make a second one.. You can make as much as you want. If no one submits, you have to wait a week before you are allowed to post a new tile.
Dont add any color. all colors you can use are in the image allready
Dont change any1 else tile.
Tiles are 50x50 px. Dont change the tilesize
Your tile has to be able to connect with the tiles next to yours!
Your tile has to fit next to an existing tile. You can not make a tile in an empty space.
Be creative! You don't have to make what the tile next to you suggests!

Sorry about my last message, but I cannot add this. its not connected good enaugh to the tile on the right of it.. please change that, because its great on the tile under it!

im sorry, but the tile is not connected good enaugh to the tile left to it. please fix it, because its a beautifull eye and it makes me really want to add it!

You are right. Im sorry.
The gray that was used before was a wrong kind of grey. it looked better indeed but it was the wrong color. Now its fixed, and its the official CGA palette now

In my opnion, we must stick to the wrong gray we had before.
The pixel artists that worked on these tiles so far used the other gray when working on their tiles. If you suddenly change one single colour in pixel-art, it will affect everything.

(this is copyandpaste from something I was saying at skamocore below.)

Most of these tiles weren't made to be displayed with these colours, is what I mean. They're not really optimised for it. The way the image was yesterday, the grey was darker than the cyan, but today it's the other way around. So any of the tiles where cyan was used as a hilight on grey, or grey as a shadow on cyan, it doesn't display right anymore.

And now the grey/black dither clashes heaps worse than the grey/magenta one does - so places where it's used, in pixelarg's and pixel-m tiles, the other would probably be used instead. It wouldn't matter if the colours still ranked the same light-to-dark, but they don't work the same with grey shifted up to the lightest colour.

To be fair, the cga pallete is grey, cyan, magenta and black. It doesn't matter whether it's precise, because it varies according to your monitor settings, and it's just for nostalgia, anyway. People'll nitpick about palettes, but I don't understand how it matters if it's a little off - this isn't going to run on a CGA machine, it just has to look cool. Changing the relative luminosity of colours halfway through a collaboration is more jarring.

Or maybe not 'high intensity' - I don't really know what I'm talking about on that count. But still, the current pallete, even if it's completely accurate, does seriously mess with the display of about half the tiles already submitted (especially metaru's and kattucchino's).

well yeah, it's definitely uglier...but it's accurate. It's the real CGA palette...imagine 25 years ago having no choice but to use those colours

There is white and lighter gray in the astronaut, don't know if that's part of the pallet...anyway, I posted a link to my image under the forums <3
