Happy Post Christmas! Happy Almost New Year! Have a comic!
It's got all sorts of stuff, like Apple Ponies, Hats, Blatant Rip-Offs of The Dark Knight Returns, and More Hats!
As usual, no I didn't make this in the half an hour since the new episode aired- I worked on this over several days of Christmas Vacation.
No I'm not trying to cheat anyone out of sweet, sweet internet karma by being first.
And No, I'm not Doctor Sam Becket, lost in time and striving to put right what once went wrong and hoping that the next leap will be the leap home. Heck, this time it has next to nothing to do with the episode (WHICH WAS AWESOME!)

Because its actually rather well done? It received 23,629 views in the matter of a single day. Roughly 1 in 23 people who see this picture put it as its favorite. Which is a really large ratio for a Deviant picture. Statistics aside, the picture really maintains the show style. Almost looking as if they drew it them selves. The characters on spot on, the details are amazing (have you actually seen the cup?) and over all the jokes are unusual.
And yes, this fandom has a large selection of Fanart. But so do most larger fandoms. I mean, sonic? SnK? TF2? Homestuck?

That's the other thing. Why does fanart replicating the style get so highly praised? I would (and do) personally find fanart more impressive and enjoyable when they're drawn in their own unique style.

It all depends on the person. I personally fined show-realist art style better for show-realist scenes. However, when its custom art entirely, I like custom styles. It really just depends on the art alone.
