looks like you did a filter to it, or if you applied something else perhaps you did it a bit strong? the effect take away from the image. It's as if you are advertizing the effect, now it's use in the image.

I was just dickin' around...I tried something new...it's just practicing different techniques...I'm bad at photoshop and I'm just working to make my skills improve.

dinking is fine. It doesn't make something good or bad. In the end the only person you ave to justify anything to is you. Are you in art to make yourself happy? There ya go.

I know in Steve Larson's AD134 class, he has students do a in class project where they mess around with as many filters as possible, as many new paint brushes, or different overlays as possible to mess with the image and turn it in. Once done he tells students to do any of those things again will equal a failing grade. His point is, people get stuck in using filters and funky brushes and overlays. They use them too much and sometimes incoorectly, and most desired effects can be done better by hand. Plus filters, look....like....filters....which is why I said it took away from the image.

We all learn somewhere. Trial and error, classes, friends, work, etc. In the end all that matters is if you like it.

I will say though that the "Deviation" category goes into your gallery and is for completed work. Therefore annything in the gallery is implied to be finished work.

Experiments, ideations, tests, etc go into the "Scraps" category. You have a gallery of Scraps, and it's a fun place to put things not too serious and get feedback from people before we submit a final deviation.

No it didn't sound like a lecture. I was just doin it for kicks. But I will assure you ....absolutely no filters were used.
