Description
The air I breathe is withered foul
No water fit to drink
The skies are bleak and grey throughout
Sunlight a broken link

I have never seen a forest glade
Or a flower-speckled tree
I have never watched a dolphin play
Or a lion running free

Birdsong I did hear today
A recording oh-so-sweet!
To my fellow playmates I must say
It's a joyful sound indeed

I wish that I could see the sky
Reflected in a mountain stream
But all I see is sludge and grime
Rainbows but a dream

To those who hear me say these words
I have a wish so great
I am tomorrow's child, as yet unborn
Don't let this be my fate!

Change the way you treat the Earth
Show some love and care
Create a world where my birth
Will not be my despair

It's not too late to change today
The planet where I shall live
Just open up and see the way
It's time not to take, but give
