There is something there
eating it’s way through my soul

It feasts upon me,
devours me
zapping a jolt
through the spirit I tend to show

look at me
an empty shell
am I so completely alone?

paint me gray
in a world of color
my sorrow
has washed it away

in this world
I am nothingness
that You have become accustomed to
each and every day

discarded like a tissue
that’s what I feel
but You can’t throw me away

I have my heart
emblazoned on my sleeve
I wish it would melt away
