It's a real shame the colours didn't come out more, a bit more sun would have helped with that but I still like the style of the shot.

Well its certainly given a very surreal feel to the picture. I love the way IR cuts through distance haze and you always see right to the horizon like some kind of lucid dream. Best to shoot IR in strong sunlight if poss (looks like it was only the lighthouse in sunlight) and maybe try different white balance settings to achieve other colour schemes. For a laugh, try shooting someones face close up in IR - instant vampire eyes !
