Description
The Pattern Distortion series explores the beautiful complexity that can be found in the interference of distorted patterns and noise.
The code used to generate these images has "sources" that generate the basic image data (as an array of values between 0 and 1), "filters" that modify that data, "eases" that adjust the curve of the data, and "operations" that blend the data from two sources together. For Pattern Distortion 06d, I added a new "Embers" source to create the little flecks or dots that appear in the image, and I added a new "Grow" filter that was used to more quickly generate the purple and red hues around the clouds.
As always, the image is what you see in it. I do have an interpretation of what it looks like to me, but I'm just the guy who put the math together. Why would my interpretation be more right than yours?
