The rings become a way for Adrien to sense the feelings of the people wearing them, helping him understand what they want. Adrien can still make his own choices unless the ring wearer directly tells him what to do. However, he can't resist feeling the emotions of the ring wearers; he can only sense them.

Every time Marinette holds or touches the other twin ring, Adrien knows. He's become that much sensitive and aware of the rings and the people who have them.

Adrien goes through a lot of personal growth, mainly on the inside. He learns not to act hastily when he feels strong emotions. He becomes patient and understands that waiting can bring clarity. He also learns to hide his own feelings, which is important so Lila can't discover that there might be another 'ring' besides hers.

But what about Marinette? She's still deeply affected by the trauma, and it paralyzes her. Her fear of losing Adrien is stronger than her desire to take action. Adrien senses this and gets it. He also feels Marinette getting physically weaker, noticing her hunger and lack of sleep each time she touches the ring. Along with emotions of sadness, fear, and depression, he senses her becoming physically weaker. Adrien is waiting for any sign that Marinette is changing for the better, something positive he can use to make his next move... but what will that move be?
