Description
Description and bio. Marvel at the colossus of the desert, devastator of plateaus, a mechanize malicious menace...MOTOTAUR! Part man, part savage beast, all fury. Mototaur is core member of the Insurgence Of Darkness, trumped by only one other member, but only in cunning. His size, that of a mountain, strength far surpassing that of protosteel, speed aided by his motorized feet and body, is reach, that of the length of a kohli field with his bohrok head morning star.Mototaur is very old, perhaps one of the oldest members of the insurgence. It is said that he was unearthed from deep within one of the nui islands, released from imprisonment set upon him long ago by the order of mata Nui to wreak havoc upon the deserts of Metru nui. Despite being old Mototaur acts and moves as if he were young. This is perhaps the result of a hibernation brought on by the imprisonment. It is known that Remaku is the one who sought him out and released him. The details are all rumored as Mototaur's wrath upon the sands was of a sudden one, appearing as if a sandstorm. Villagers of the various desert regions simply stay out of his way and bend to his will, for he could singlehandedly be the down fall of a village. Only teams of toas and titans have bested him, and only rarely
The new build
Mototaur got a massive overhaul from the previously "completed" version. He's been completely rebuilt from the abdomen down. A third pneumatic piston was incorporated into his torso for optimum stability. His forearms redone to include Caterpillar tracks in them. His neck has been fleshed out, his head received additions and additional armor has been placed here and there. This revamp has proven most challenging at ever turn, even leading me down dead ends thusly having to backtrack.
Unfortunately, he's not everything I envisioned in the new designs. His stability is near what it used to be but sadly not of the standard I'd like it to be and I lack the proper parts to adequately see this though. But his designs are sufficient enough to be shared and considered a Complete version of him. In due time I will once again revisit what by now is probably my signature MOC to hopefully improve upon what I deem to be inferior designs and make hims stabler and more poseable. Maximum stability and poseablity is my ultimate goal with these larger MOCs.
Now while its said that this is Version 3, this is actually a much later version, but I've lost track of how many version I had before the first version posted here on

HAHA Yeah. For a lot of us MOCers we got into bionicle when it came out back in 2001, and we just never stopped as we got older and it kept going. Why stop doing something you're good at right?

lol I'm not sure how or why I stopped playing w/ bionicles. it just kindof happened. lol parents probably decided to stop paying for them. anyway, your work is fantastic, that plus nostalgia = awesome

Ah yeah. There was a phase with my grandmother where she did that, but I got an allowance as a kid/teenager, which is where most of my bionicles came from, after she realized I wasn't going to give it up, she started buying them for me again.

Oh...my goodness...not my preferred color scheme, but still...you really did a beast of a job with this guy. I always love coming across professional-looking Bionicle creations.
I love the backstory you gave him too. Looks like I found another avid Bionicle fan who still believes in the series even after its been taken down!
At first glance, I was sure it had to be a desert Rahi of some sort, and that it would most likely be residing on Bara Magna, but you surprised me with the story of the Nui islands and whatnot.
Y'know...despite its obviously huge size, Mototaur looks pretty articulated, and the wheels (I especially love the wheeled feet) almost make it look like it could transform.
Overall, awesome everything. Daily Deviation certainly deserved. I was honestly surprised to see a Bionicle in the DD's, but I'm glad it's this masterpiece that made it. My hats off to you, pal. *goes to check out your gallery*

Thank you for an actual comment on this first of all instead of just "WOW" or "That's cool."
The idea with the color scheme is that its supposed to be a little more open than other MOCs. Instead of having two or three colors its got a handful of colors. I wanted him to be brighter and more colorful than my previous MOCs.
You know, up until this version, he hadn't had much of a backstory. He was always just Mototaur, big meanie that was from a desert region. I kinda don't recognize all the bara Magna story line since it ended up being such crap. SO I keep things to the matoran world only. I'm not the most avid fan but I know enough to weave my characters into the story.
Pulling that off was not easy. He's very difficult to stand now. Moreso than his old version. I need to go back and re-re-redo him but I also need to move onto other projects to. So this really is a "good enough for now" version. I do like how it has a transformer look. It'd be great to make a transforming MOC but that'd be very difficult with all those moving parts and what not.
Thank you once again. Mine was only the second bionicle MOC to be featured in the DD's. What else have you checked out? I've been so swamped with messages that even if you did comment on something else I don't remember. Then there's been so many fave messages. My message number got to 4 digits cause of this DD. ANd I keep my message menu splintered so not everything is one number.

Haha no problemo. A DD usually comes with plenty of comments, favorites, and the like.
I've pretty much checked out your entire gallery, and you do some seriously cool stuff. A lot of it's original, so props on that. I left a comment on your giant ax that was originally meant for Mototaur.

They do. But I still fell bad I don't remember your comments.
Thank you. I try to be original, at least in bionicle MOCing. I pull all my concepts from already existing things, but its the making it into a bionicle version that becomes original. For example, I've not seen anyone do a bionicle Plague doctor before, or a chinese dragon. And then "rollerblading minotaur" is original outside of bionicle. I look at what others are doing and say "well I won't do that then." That's mainly why I don't have a "self MOC."

HAHA that's never gonna happen. I'm too afraid to take him apart cause I'll forget how to put him back together, it'd take too long to make the instructions, and besides, there's no way enough people have the parts required to make him to justify going through all that work.

Yeah one Mototaur would be pretty bad and kill you dead in a minute, 5 would rule the world. I've never given any thought as to whether there's other ones like him in the bionicle universe. Its something to consider.

Yeps that's all bionicle, technic and a few regular lego pieces on there. Everything is something made by lego.
HAHA yeah they all meet a swift demise of being disassembled and made into something else. If they did mind then to bad.

xFrEAKk In reply to Plague-Doc-Matteo [2011-08-12 03:40:12 +0000 UTC]
Wow, that's really insane! I know how particular those pieces like to be too... wow!
Ah, I guess they wouldn't mind, I mean, who wouldn't mind being disassemble and reassembled into something bigger, more powerful, and ultimately stronger?!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to xFrEAKk [2011-08-19 04:09:59 +0000 UTC]
Definitely. They're not as versatile as regular lego. There's a lot more mechanics that go into them. Lego can be three dimentional as well, but in its basic form its pretty two dimentional. Technic and bionicle are 3 dimensional even in their basics. In their complexity you've got gears, moving parts, motors, even programmable robotics.
lol I guess. After all these years I ignore their cries of agony and pleas to spare their lives. Its just part of the disassembly process.

HEHE its cool to see how many people had and played with bionicles when they were younger, or still do. I think this really shows that bionicles are just as viable as a medium as legos or any other medium.

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to BrancADiF [2011-08-06 03:34:11 +0000 UTC]
haha It'd cost you at least a couple grand. Gotta get the parts, which wouldn't be cheap, then I'd have to put it together. Or make instructions which wouldn't be cheap. Plus it'd have to be made worth my while to ruin the fact that this is the only one of these in the world. IT'D GET REAL EXPENSIVE REAL FAST! But thank you for the compliment.
